A Recessed Lighting Upgrade
Often when you want to upgrade existing recessed lighting to LED it’s a plug and play operation . Here are two examples of projects that weren’t as simple as that first glance might lead you to believe.
This first picture might look familiar if you live in a home 20 years old or newer.

This florescent can light was often used to meet California Title 24 energy requirements in the past. Now they look dated and sad in otherwise nice homes but there’s no plug in options to upgrade to something more appealing.

We removed the inner housing and rewired the light by working through the hole in the ceiling then installed a great looking LED trim that blew the old lights away in terms of light color and output.

At the second location we see what looks like a traditional can light. But the housing was an oddball size and the trim was one piece with the housing… There was no place to install the new LED trim!

We removed the old housing and cut the holes bigger…

Installed new housings and LED trims, and the results speak for themselves.
